Frame and kit
The minimum frame has an external dimension of 4×5 and an opening of 2×3; the four corner blocks are optional, so you need 10 obsidian. Light the inside with flint. Weeping Obsidian does not replace a regular frame. Reference: Minecraft: the first Nether.
Take flint, 64 non-flammable building blocks, food, a pickaxe, a bow and one gold piece of armor. This is the initial stock of the short exit. Gold armor protects against normal piglin aggression, but not against brutes, attacks on them, or some actions with their property.
First actions after loading
Stay on the portal block and examine the floor and lava. If the exit is unusable, return, prepare more blocks and enter again. If the space is available, fence off the area, block the frame from direct ghast shots, and leave a clear path.
Write down the coordinates of Nether and check your return home. If the exit leads to another frame, correct the binding before further exploration. Don't build far from an unreliable return.
To correct an incorrect output, use the following calculation: Nether portals lead to the wrong place: link the right exits.
What to look for and what not to do
Fortress is needed for blazes, rods and nether wart; bastion is another structure with piglin and brutes. Don't confuse them for the same red wall. Mark each turn towards the portal.
Ordinary water evaporates, the bed explodes when trying to sleep. To return after death, place a bed in the Overworld. On narrow bridges, add sides and do not mine the block under you: the danger of falling here is more important than the speed of the hike.
