Breeding villagers and finding why it fails

For manual breeding, start with two adult villagers, three available beds and six loaves. Work blocks and the profession of parents do not replace food and space for the child.

Test the room before expanding

Our stand is a closed illuminated room 5×5 inside, three beds and a passage in front of them. Leave two free blocks above each bed; For the first experience, do not use a low ceiling or decorative obstacles. Reference: Microsoft: villager Bedrock behavior.

In Java, it is important that the villager can recognize an available free bed. In Bedrock, village connections can take over adjacent beds, so start separately from the trading floor. The size of the room is a convenient plan, not a required number of blocks.

Give food to both parents

Throw 3 bread next to each adult and wait for them to be picked up. An alternative to each is 12 carrots, regular potatoes or beets. Baked potatoes and seeds are not a substitute for this set.

If the second one doesn't pick up the food, the first one could take everything. Hand out portions at different ends of the room. On the server, prohibiting the selection of items or setting mobGriefing may interfere with work; Don't pour out dozens of stacks until you see a selection.

The purpose of the profession and the replenishment of transactions are discussed here: Villager trading: professions, books and restocking.

Hearts without a child

Hearts mean an attempt, not a finished result. Angry particles after them are a reason to check the free bed, its space and connections with other villagers. Don't break all the beds around the great hall for one experience.

After birth, the bed is occupied by the baby. The next one will require a new free or correct separation of the grown villager from the settlement. Parents also need a break; immediate refeeding does not start a continuous stream of babies.

The food yield and supply of planting material are calculated in the manual: A reliable food supply: crops, animals and travel rations.
