Character mode
| Mode | Why | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Survival | Mining and development with limited resources | Food, health, things after death |
| Creative | Layout and free construction | Do not mix with the main passage without agreement |
| Adventure | Passing the prepared map | Block modification restrictions |
| Spectator | Observation | Not ordinary survival and interaction |
World difficulty
Peaceful, Easy, Normal and Hard change the threats and a number of game conditions. Peaceful difficulty removes many hostile creatures, but does not make any fall or lava safe. If a project depends on a certain mob, switching to Peaceful can ruin its working conditions.
Hardcore is a separate walkthrough with one life and fixed conditions, and not just another name for Hard. It appeared in Bedrock in Bundles of Bravery, so the old "Hardcore Java only" statements are no longer true. To train mechanics, use a regular copy of world.
What to choose for a specific task
For your first normal adventures, start with Survival/Normal and a small camp. To calculate the roof - a separate Creative layout. For the author's map - provided by Adventure. Choosing difficulty as a way to fix an inaccessible construction site is pointless: the ban may be in the region or mode.
In your world with command you can check the lines below. @s means you when typing in chat. In someone else's server, these commands are available only by rights, and the temporary mode of the mini-game can be set by a plugin.
/gamemode creative @s
/gamemode survival @s
/difficulty normalWhy doesn't the block break?
Check the current mode, chat message and other allowed location. If the restriction is only on spawn or in someone else's area, defending the territory is likely. If it's a card, read its rules. Don't try to bypass the protection by switching the difficulty.
For a general world, agree in advance on recovery commands, Creative for layouts, and saving inventory after death. In Bedrock, read the achievement warning before enabling cheats. Check the settings on a copy before the important passage.
This is a separate rule and not a built-in difficulty level property. Saving things.
A practical set for starting without changing the mode. First day of Survival.
