Examples for Java

For Java 1.20–1.21, use the fully qualified type name and identifier. Look for the village in the Overworld, the Nether fortress in the Nether. Hints after Tab are more reliable than an identifier from someone else's old article. Reference: Microsoft: locate Bedrock.

Bedrock Syntax

The names of Bedrock structures differ. For a village, village is used, not the Java identifier village_plains. The true parameter when searching for a structure limits the search to new chunks; do not add it if you are looking for a village that has already been visited.

When checking someone else's coordinates, check the world passport: Choose a seed for your base and check it before you start.

Permissions and interpreting the result

Bedrock requires allowed cheats and sufficient rights; Enabling cheats affects the achievements of this world. For a normal playthrough, you can explore a separate creative copy with the same seed and settings. On someone else's server, command is available according to the owner's rules.

Record the measurement and X/Z of the result. Don't teleport to an arbitrary height blindly: inside a mountain, above lava or under water, the command does not prepare the site. In the updated world, old chunks retain the same generation, so the new structure may be located further than the explored territories.
