Minecraft teleportation: coordinates, players and safe destinations

The teleport takes you to the specified position, but does not search for safe ground for you. For the first experiment, choose a known area with a floor and two free blocks above it.

command require world permission or server rights. /tpa on a public server is usually a separate plugin request and is not the same as vanilla teleport. For the test, use yourself, not @a or @e.

In the chat @s is the performer. There is no such player in the server console: indicate the exact nickname. The numbers below are an example, not a promised safe surface: replace them with the coordinates of the prepared site.

/tp @s 100 65 -200
/tp Alice Bob

Order and three coordinate systems

The first line moves the player to X=100, Y=65, Z=-200 in the command context. In the second, Alice goes to Bob; the reverse order carries the other player. Read the names before confirming.

The command position is not always the player position

In chat, relative coordinates are usually measured from the player. In a command block - from the block; execute as changes the artist, but does not itself move the point. To execute on the player, use execute as Alice at @s run ….

To transfer to the Java dimension, use an explicit context, such as /execute in minecraft:the_nether run tp @s 100 70 -200, only if it is a verified site in Nether. The same set of X Y Z in another dimension means a different place. Don't mix ^ and ~ in the same triplet.

Bedrock: what true checks

In Bedrock, /tp @s 100 65 -200 true enables checkForBlocks: an occupied space can cancel the transfer. The air above the abyss does not turn into a safe platform. Nearby lava, dangerous edge and future damage also require your check. This argument does not carry over to Java by analogy.

Practice in a flat creative world: mark the starting position, move to ~ ~2 ~, then check the local ^ ^ ^3 while looking horizontally. For the main world, write down the return point in advance.

It is especially useful when one command from the chat works, but one from the block does not. Command block and executor.
