Building a practical railway and station

The first station can be a dead end on an unpowered energy rail: it slows down the trolley, and the button turns on the start from the stop block. First build a straight test section.

A 17-position test track

Our stand: rails with numbers 0…16 in a straight line. Install stop energy rails on 0 and 16, permanently powered energy rails on 4, 8 and 12, the rest - regular ones. Place full thrust blocks behind the ends at positions -1 and 17. Reference: Minecraft: trolley.

Place permanent sources at intermediate energy rails, buttons at the end rails. There are regular rails between them, so constant power doesn't have to keep the stop on. Before launching, both extreme positions must be dark.

Start and stop in both directions

Place the trolley at position 0 against the stop, sit down and press the button. The energy rail should push it away from the block along the path. On 16 without power it slows down; the button at this end starts the reverse route.

Have a round trip with a passenger. If the end stays on, look for a nearby lever and power distribution. If the train stops early, check for rail breaks, turns, and intermediate sources.

To connect the receiver to the chest, the following instructions will be useful: Hoppers: send items to the right container.

Extend it into a working railway

On ascents, additional powered areas are needed. Empty, passenger and cargo trolleys behave differently; The distances of the training level stand are not a universal calculation for slopes and the load line.

Leave an exit area on the side without a hole, fence off the bridges and do not place the ceiling near the passenger's head. The trolley costs 5 iron ingots in the letter U. For the cargo car, add a chest, but test its loading and braking separately from the passenger car.

Recording coordinates and road signs are described in the manual: Maps and signposts: make your world easier to navigate.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't the trolley move at the start?

Check the power supply and the complete thrust block directly behind it.

Why didn't she stop?

The final energy rail must be unpowered before the button is pressed.

Can I use the same intervals on the climb?

No, the slope and type of trolley require a separate test.
