Bedrock on Paper with Geyser: UDP, Floodgate and connection checks

Geyser converts the Bedrock connection to the Java server protocol. One Paper requires a suitable bridge assembly, an available UDP port, and a proven login method; Floodgate is added when a Bedrock user does not need a separate Java account.

Start with a working Java connection

First, connect to Paper using a regular Java client. On the Geyser installation page select Paper/Spigot and download Geyser-Spigot.jar. To enter through Floodgate, take Floodgate-Spigot.jar according to Floodgate instructions.

Stop the test Paper via stop, put the JAR in plugins and run it. This diagram applies to one direct server. For Velocity and other proxies, the installation and transfer of account data is different; You cannot mechanically copy the direct Paper settings there.

Modify the generated fields while maintaining the YAML structure

After the first start, stop the server. In plugins/Geyser-Spigot/config.yml, find bedrock and change the existing parameters according to the example. Then find the existing auth-type and set it to floodgate, keeping its parent section. Don't add a second auth-type in a random place.

For direct Paper, leave online-mode=true. Keep the Floodgate key as a secret. When starting, make sure both plugins are enabled and Geyser is listening on the selected port. If the Java server is different from the current Geyser supported protocol, follow the author's compatibility table and separately check the need for ViaVersion.

Check UDP across the entire network path

For UFW, the resolution is sudo ufw allow 19132/udp; for Docker the publication is 19132:19132/udp. The home router forwards UDP 19132 to the server's local address. These rules do not replace each other.

From the server console, run geyser connectiontest ВашПубличныйАдрес 19132; command and network reasons for failure are discussed in official diagnostics. TCP check 25565 does not prove Bedrock reachability.

Check not only the connection, but also the profile

In Bedrock on phone or Windows: Play → Servers → Add Server. Specify the domain without https://, port 19132 - in a separate field. After logging in, check the actual nickname and UUID in the rights, personal belongings after re-logging in, purchase with refusal if there is not enough money and exit the mini-game.

The world mechanics remain Java. The plugin, which requires a client Java mod, does not become compatible with the phone just by installing Geyser. Before changing how you link your accounts, check the copy: the new ID may open a different profile.

The login log shows whether the client reached the server. Separate network from authorization error.

The Bedrock profile should receive exactly the group intended for it. Check eligibility by actual UUID.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Java connect but Bedrock doesn't?

These are different transport and port: Java usually TCP 25565, Bedrock in the example UDP 19132. Check the UDP publication and external route.

Do I need to disable online mode for Floodgate?

Direct Paper does not require this. Backend settings behind a trusted proxy are a separate scheme.

Network connectiontest guarantees menu operation?

No. You need a real login, checking the buttons, saving things and the correct profile.
